FAQ
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
Sessions are 45 minutes in length and my fee is $200. Payment is due at the time of your session and can be made by cash, check or via Paypal. If you have out of network coverage, I provide receipts for partial reimbursement.
WHAT IS THE LENGTH AND FREQUENCY OF THERAPY SESSIONS?
Sessions are 45 minutes in length and generally occur once a week. Sessions can be more frequent based on the client's need.
HOW LONG WILL THERAPY TAKE?
Therapy lasts as long as needed, based on a client's goals and the specific issues being addressed. Some clients come for several months, while others stay in treatment for several years. We will continue to discuss your progress throughout the treatment and address termination when appropriate.
CAN I USE MY INSURANCE FOR COUNSELING?
I can work with you as an out of network provider. Many of my clients use their out of network benefits and get reimbursed a percentage of the counseling fee. The reimbursement is in the 50-80% range, depending on your policy. Others clients use their Flexible Spending Account, to pay for their therapy and the Flexible Spending Account provides them tax advantages. When beginning therapy, check your plan to determine benefits for licensed counselors, if there’s a deductible and if it has been met, and what percentage they reimburse for individual counseling. I will provide you with a receipt with the necessary information to be reimbursed.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IN-NETWORK AND OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS?
When you use out of network benefits, you’re afforded more privacy. Therapists who work directly with insurance companies often face conflicts over session limits and providing personal therapy data and details about your treatment.
